Warburton Community GardenThis is powering along! The current good news is that we have been granted $6000 from the Shire's Community Grants - so we will be able to really get into it. There are quite a few people who have expressed an interest in having their own vegie plot, plus others who want to be involved in it because it is a community project. We are having the first working bee on Sunday 14th June 2-4pm so do come along and lend a hand. We will be pegging out the individual plots and the sites for fruit trees, clearing rubbish, preparing the first garden bed, and sharing ideas about design and infrastructure. Bring tools, newspaper, manure, garden gloves, black plastic etc if you have them, but if not, your enthusiasm will be enough.
An organising committee consisting of Sharyn Morrice, Judith Thoma, Norm Crisp and Carole Ann is meeting on Thursday 11th to start dealing with matters such as guidelines and policy, insurance, incorporation and so on. We would love others to join us if this is your 'thing'. Phone Carole or Sharyn on 5966 2053 if you are interested. Make an Enquiry?VAR> |
